What do you do?

Our aim is to make a positive difference in the lives of others, promoting hope and offering encouragement. We provide a time to talk and be listened to, where everyone is valued, offering support to those wishing to tackle problems that limit their quality of life. We can point to local agencies that are able to help personal needs. We provide clothing, sleeping bags, footwear and toiletries to those in emergency need. We are authorised referrers for Cirencester Foodbank.

Our history

Cirencester Signpost was set up in 2012 by Graham and Juliette Harris, originally as an outreach to those who were sleeping rough in Cirencester. At Jesse's Bistro, we provided a hot cooked meal and clothing. Below are some of the original Signpost group.

Why do you do it and how are you funded?

As Christians, Signpost is a practical way of demonstrating the love Jesus has for all people, especially those who are poor or suffering.

We are funded through the generosity of supporters. As we are all volunteers, we have no salaries to pay meaning the overwhelmingly majority of our monies can be spent directly on helping people and providing our core services.

Can anyone volunteer?

In accordance with our 'Safer Recruitment Policy' which forms part of our safeguarding procedures, initially we do require a completed application form and two references.
